Blue Vinyl is an award-winning documentary by Judith Helfand and Daniel B. Gold. When Judith’s parents re-side their house in blue vinyl, she sets out to find out where it comes from — and what it really costs. Her investigation leads from her Long Island backyard to Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley,” Italy’s Marghera industrial district, and into the heart of the American chemical industry.
